life with llamas, rojo the llama -

Original Post Date: November 10th, 2015 I have heard about how when you get pregnant, it seems like all you see are pregnant women everywhere. I know when I was in the market to buy a Subaru it seemed like everyone around me was driving a Subaru. Does this happen to you? Once you notice something then it feels like that something is just everywhere?! This is truly the year of the llama. It’s not because I’m incredibly involved, or maybe I am and this is allowing me to bring this to your attention, but seriously: llamas everywhere!  And it’s awesome! How...

Original Post Date: November 4th, 2015 Many people don’t know the human-side of what we do as a pet-therapy team. That is what is so wonderful about this blog. For once, people can hear about our side of these stories vs. the animal’s. Today was Serendipity day! Serendipity day is when we go down to Serendipity Center, an integrated school for youth who cannot be placed in public schools. Their mission: “to provide a safe learning environment in which the emotional, behavioral, and academic needs of students are met through individualized support services.” We have been taking Rojo to Serendipity Center...

Original Post Date: November 3rd, 2015 I was hoping to have a clever title for this posting, but I’m still too tired and excited to be creative. Normally I sleep with my phone on vibrate. It’s loud enough to hear a grouping of vibrations for a phone call but silent enough where a text or notification keeps me asleep. So I was VERY surprised when I heard my father’s text! “The radio guy called… want to talk 2 u.” It was 7:18am and a gentleman from KPAM (a local radio station we were on with Rojo a few years back) wanted...

Art by Theresa Johnson Original Post Date: November 2nd, 2015 I am a mad Googler! If I am curious about anything, my phone is in my hands before I can even finish a thought. This is a habit I get from my father. I know if ever I were in need to “call a friend” to win a million dollars, it would be him. He is always on his computer and always sharing about what he has found out pertaining to the situation we are in. Whether it’s a character in a movie or a Seahawks fact (despite him being...

life with llamas, rojo the llama -

Original Post Date: October 30th, 2015 I’m finding out with each passing day how simple so much in life is that we work ourselves up for. Something as simple as carving a pumpkin can really work me up. Sitting alongside good friends helps relieve a little of the anxiety, but like everyone else, I put more pressure on myself then necessary. “What if I’m not creative? I don’t do art. I don’tcarve pumpkins. I don’t want to have the ugliest design.” If allowed, my gut and fears would get the better of me. Luckily I know myself better than this and showed up with...
